Brief History

Tally Ho Hotel, a property that was owned by Edwin S. Lowe, was the forerunner of today’s Planet Hollywood.

When it was first introduced in 1963 it was the sole major hotel that did not have gambling facilities in Nevada that could have led to its closure at the close that year.

The next owner, Kings Crown Inn of America was able to reopen it in the form of King’s Crown Tally Ho.

The year was 1966. Milton Prell acquired the hotel and transformed the hotel. However, Prell wasn’t the only owner, and Tally Ho was not its final name.

In 2007, the resort was changed to Planet Hollywood – it was previously called Aladdin following its purchase from Planet Hollywood and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.

The owner of the company is Caesars Entertainment Corporation, among the biggest operators in the world, and owners of entertainment-themed resorts.
